Initial Reporting Outcomes and Alignment with the Japan AI Act

カナダ・バンクーバーで開催されたAISI国際ネットワーク会合のサイドイベントとして、日本AISIがカナダAISIの協力を得て「広島AIプロセス及びAI法関連サイドイベント」を開催しました。
Japan AISI with the cooperation of Canada AISI hosted an event titled “Future Development of HAIP” in Vancouver. It was a side event of the AISI International network meeting.

Future Developments of HAIP: Initial Reporting Outcomes and Alignment with the Japan AI Act

[目的| Purpose]
安全、安心で信頼できるAIの実現に向け、広島AIプロセスの国際指針との整合性に配慮した日本のAI法の説明や広島AIプロセス参加企業の知見の共有を通じ、日本や企業の取組みをベストプラクティスとして各国のAI安全性機関等に普及させることを目的としたものです。
This side event aims to foster best practices to representatives of AISIs and equivalent institutions by explaining the Japan AI Act, which is designed to be consistent with the Hiroshima AI Process International Guiding Principles, and by sharing the experiences of companies participating in the Hiroshima AI Process, to promote safe, secure and trustworthy AI.

[結果概要| Summary]
・日本の国内外のAI政策とAI法の経緯・概要を紹介。また、同法に基づき策定予定の指針と広島プロセス国際指針を整合させる方針を説明し、こうした取組の各国への普及の重要性を発信。
・Provided an overview of the history and key points of domestic and international AI policies and AI Act in Japan. Additionally, explained the plan to align future guidelines based on the AI Act with the Hiroshima Process International Guiding Principles, and placed emphasis on promoting this kind of initiative globally.

・広島AIプロセス報告枠組みは、企業がリスク対応・情報共有等に関する取組をOECDウェブサイト上で自主的に報告する枠組み。本年2月の運用開始以来、日米主要AI関連企業を含む20組織が報告を提出。
・The Hiroshima AI Process Reporting Framework is a framework for companies to report voluntarily their activities related to risk management and information sharing on the OECD website. Since its launch in February this year, 20 organizations, including major AI companies from Japan and the United States, have submitted their reports.

・今後の課題としては、報告内容の明確化、ランク付けの回避、各国・地域の法制度等との整合性の確保等が重要とされた。
・Key challenges to be addressed include clarifying the required report content, avoiding ranking schemes, and ensuring consistency with national and regional legal systems.

・パネルでは、報告枠組みへの中小企業(SME)の参画と技術支援の重要性等を議論。
・The panel discussed the importance of SMEs’ participation in the reporting framework and technical support for them.
